Climate features The Badaling section of the Great Wall of China has pleasant climates, featuring four distinctive seasons. Located at the arched area in the southern end of the Yanshan Mountain subsidence zone, Badaling Great Wall rolls over green mountains adjacent to ravines and gullies, with more than 96 percent areas covered with trees. It is built upon mountain ridges 600 to 1,000 meters above the sea level. Boasting unique geographical and climate conditions, Badaling Great Wall is 6～8℃ lower than downtown Beijing in the annual average temperature.
